Famous Last Words

Seeing as how I only have 9 official Blogger users following this blog, the title of this post is mildly pretentious; but it seems appropriate for a few reasons. One being the fact that this will be my final blog post*.  The other reason is because I'm taking a break from reading a book titled Famous Last Words*, to write this final blog post.

So my time in England came to an end on the 22nd of December. I know I haven't written since November (shame on me...) but I'm going to try and make up for it in this one.

During the month long gap between blog posts, I did a lot of working and a lot of planning. Planning to go out and explore London in all its glory as the tourist I've always been embarrassed to be. Unfortunately, almost every single one of those plans fell through. Although, I can say that I've walked by Big Ben, I saw the London Eye from my train rides, and I've seen the Museum of London! It sounds a lot more depressing when it's written out like that, but it's okay. No regrets! I know I'll be back eventually to do all the things I wanted to.

At the end of my stay, for about a week, I stayed at the Palmer's Lodge Hostel in Swiss Cottage. To say that it was cool would be an unmitigated understatement. I met so many great people there from all over the world, most of which were/are traveling alone; all of which had starkly different backgrounds and reasons for being there. It made me even more heartbroken about leaving, but excited because after meeting everybody, traveling alone seemed like an incredible adventure. An adventure I sincerely hope to undertake sometime in my future.

Well, now that my time there is over, this little blog is over. Sad truth, but with every ending comes a new beginning. New Year's, which, by the way, came and went quicker than I can walk from my kitchen to my family room, is the time of resolutions. I decided that one of them be that I start a blog. A just-for-fun-why-not? blog. I'm in the process of setting it up, but when I'm done with that I'll post the actual final blog post on this page directing your attention to my new one.

Thanks for sticking with me and bearing with my inexplicable inability to write posts on a regular basis. That will be something I'll work on for my next one!

Best wishes, take it easy, toodles, all that jazz,

Greta

  1. Your writing is beautiful! I just stumbled upon your blog, and I know you don't write here anymore, so you might never see this comment, but I just wanted to say that I liked what you said about the people in the hostile.
